This is Miel speaking: my first job and ambitions at Tisaco

In the beginning of September 2024, Miel started his first job at Tisaco. How does he experience the step from school to work? We asked him... and also asked some fun questions.

What is your role at Tisaco and what is a typical working day like?

I am a technical designer and work with EPLAN Pro Panel almost every day. In addition, I am also sometimes called in on the work floor when necessary and I am sometimes asked to make quotations.

Was it a big adjustment to swap school for the working field?

Not really, as a student I often worked in panel building at another company throughout the year when I didn't have classes. And that was easily about 2-3 days a week anyway.

How would you describe the culture at Tisaco to someone applying here?

At Tisaco you always get a friendly welcome from great colleagues. You get a lot of freedom, which would be more difficult elsewhere. If there is a problem you can always go to someone, there is always a solution. Or as Ronny would say, ‘No solution, there's no such thing!’

There is always a very relaxed atmosphere and everyone is in tune with each other. I honestly wouldn't know a better workplace than this one.

What does an ideal weekend look like for Miel?

On weekends, I usually go to my girlfriend's house or have a drink with friends. I also usually go cycling, running or practice for the motocross on Saturday. On Sundays, there is then a motocross race every week. Unfortunately, it's a bit quieter now, because I dislocated my shoulder last month. Fortunately, according to the physiotherapist, I may get back in competition soon!

What would you do if you won the lottery tomorrow (but you can't stop working)?

First of all, I would buy a nice car and a big house with as big a garage as possible. A cross-country track behind the house would also come in handy 😉 . The rest I would invest in real estate to rent out, so I don't use up all the money. I would also like to divide a piece among my family.

What do you hope to achieve in the coming years at Tisaco?

I hope to work at Tisaco still for a long time and hope we continue to grow into a big company. I would then like to play a bigger role in that, for example as a project manager.
